Our Volunteer Program

As kiteboarding and tourism grow along the Colombian coast, we believe it’s important to increase social awareness in the region and make a positive impact on the environment and communities. To fulfill our goals, we hope to expand our team. We are seeking passionate volunteers dedicated to youth development and marine and environmental conservation to assist us in focusing on community environmental education.

Program 1:
Workshops

Organize and facilitate workshops for the beneficiaries of our Jouktai team. Generally, we have 5-10 children and young people between 8-18 years old.

  • Tutoring & homework help
  • English Classes
  • Art & Creativity Workshops
  • Environmental Workshops
  • Organize dynamic activities related to teamwork and personal development (confidence, resilience, responsibility, self-esteem, etc.).

Program 2: Administration

Your tasks will be (but not limited to):

  • Administrative support to the foundation (organization, scheduling, communication)
  • Marketing/Promotion of projects/Maintenance of accounts on social media.
  • Grant writing.

Program 3:
Environmental Projects

Preparation and execution of environmental projects:

  • Clean-ups of the beach and other touristic areas
  • Recycling Workshops
  • Development of the “Corals for La Guajira” project

Your Qualities & Abilities:

• Interest or background in community initiatives, environmental or marine conservation.
• Experience in project management (knowledge of accounting, budgets, project cycles, and reporting).
• Previous experience in grant writing is an advantage!
• Trustworthy, reliable, calm, good with people, takes initiative.
• Social media/networking skills and marketing.
• Teaching skills.
• Proficient in Spanish and English.
• Enjoys being at the beach and living and working in a relaxed environment with few amenities, capable of living without comforts for a period of time (scarce electricity & water resources)
