Community Cleanup in Riohacha
On June 1st, 2022, a successful cleanup day took place in the tourist municipality of Riohacha, La Guajira, as part of the national strategy “Colombia Limpia” and the campaign “La Vamo’ a Limpiá” by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism and Fontur. On this day, we managed to collect more than 80 kilograms of solid waste with nearly 100 participants from Riohacha. Additionally, during the activity, we raised awareness among the local community and discussed topics related to environmental care. An ecological point was set up on the beach next to the pier. The success of the day was made possible through the collaborative efforts of FONTUR, the Jouktai Foundation, the support of the La Guajira governorship through the Departmental Tourism Directorate, the municipal mayor’s office, the participation of the school, tourism friends, tourism entrepreneurs, recycling associations, and members of the same communities.
