On April 8, 2022, a successful community cleanup day was held at the tourist site Dibulla, La Guajira as part of the national strategy “Colombia Limpia” and the campaign “La Vamo’ a Limpiá” by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism and Fontur. On this day of the event, we managed to collect more than 700 kilograms of solid waste with nearly 200 participants from Dibulla. Additionally, during the activity, we raised awareness among the local community and explained topics related to environmental conservation. The event was successful thanks to the collaboration between FONTUR, Jouktai Foundation, the support from the governorship of La Guajira through the Department of Tourism, the municipal mayor’s office, the participation of the school, friends of tourism, tourism entrepreneurs, recycling associations, and members of the communities themselves.
