Community Cleanups
Environmental Responsibility
We strongly believe that no matter where we live, our oceans support and enhance our lives. Over the past 30 years, volunteers around the world have picked up more than 220 million pounds of trash from beaches. Here in La Guajira, the sea is a source of livelihood for fishermen; our beaches are enjoyed not only by tourists who come from all over the world but also by local people. In addition, our beaches are a great economic opportunity for the region. When contaminated beaches occur, they not only result in a high increase in disease among the local population, but also damage the local economy. That is why we are starting regular initiatives to combat this issue.
